I have upgraded to HD with Dish network. Unfortunately my local channels are all in Standard def. I want to watch the Superbowl on NBC in HD- any suggestions?
Someone mentioned using an open air antenna on my reciever to get NBC signal in HD.

Basically, I want to get my local channels through an over the air antenna when there is a big game on so I can watch it in HD. I dont have an HD package with Dish.

Dish says that the local channels arent available in our area but I have heard that there are ways to unlock the channels and recieve them from san francisco.

I do not get all my local channels through my Direct TV box. I want to run it through my receiver so I can use my DVR for these channels. I have seen it done with dish network, but i do not know if it is possible with Direct Tv.

I have DISH and receive the local channels thru them but the quality is poor especially on a big screen. They do have a lot of HD channels but none of them are the big networks ABC,NBC,CBS, etc.
