How Can I Get Tv In My Daughter’s Room? She Has A Laptop And A Television In Her Room.?

We have wireless internet through ATT and Dish Network for satellite tv. We have 2 receivers servicing 4 televisions, one is a 522 DVR. Her laptop is connected to the internet.

  1. I’m guessing you meant to ask how to get the satellite TV signal into her room.
Two options I can think of:
As you already know, the receivers each have 2 tuners each. One configuration is to allocate 1 tuner to different TVs (in different rooms) so that each can watch channels (or shows on the DVR) independently of each other.
There is no reason why you cannot then split one of those out bound wires so that 2 TVs could share one tuner. Note that this means that both TVs would see the same channel at the same time, and if either user changed the channel, both TVs would be affected. (you may remember this was how multiple TVs worked when receivers only had 1 tuner in them.) You would probably want to get another VHF remote from Dish (probably another $2/mo. or so)
Another way would be to look into the products from Slingbox Media (www.slingmedia.com) They make a variety of products that let you stream a TV signal over your network to a computer or laptop using either ethernet or wireless. This would still mean that her laptop would only be able to watch whatever that other receiver is watching. However, it might be a nifty alternative if you also wanted to, say, watch the game while in the den using your computer where no TV exists.
Recently, Dish and Sling Media announced some sort of business deal, meaning we’ll probably see Sling Media’s technology integrated into Dish’s later receivers. Details are unknown, and it’ll probably be at least a year before we see any physical results of this merger. But this is something to keep in mind.

  2. you need to get another receiver or sanction because as per your data i take it that only two television sets can be services by one receiver….if this is the case then you have to contact yur service provider,,,,,or else there is a way to get signal feed to the extra set….but that is up to you to follow…you only need a reapeter with inbulit amplifier and impedance matching buffers. get the signal from any of the receiver and attach a two way coaxiall jack…then feed the signal in to the repeater and feed the output to the set top box of your system or feed it directly to your system if the signal is decrypted allready at source.

  3. if you mean you want to get it out of her room, just get it out. go in there with some and carry it out, she may be mad but hey ur the mother, tell her she can watch tv downstairs where you can monitor it.
now if you want to get it into her room, ok can’t help much there, you already stated she has it ‘already’

  4. uhmmmm…
do you mean get the tv OUT OF HER ROOM, or
get one more tv INTO HER ROOM?
by the way, someone somewhere said that too much tv interferes with learning
